We are using food as a catalyst to attract those in a food desert community experiencing food insecurities to our property to not only meet that immediate need of food, but to also provide resources and education that will better help them to cope and eliminate those food insecurities. Dare to Care (DTC) is a community development and services outreach 501(c)3 organization. DTC has served the South Florida community for over 15 years.
Healthy Food For All
Broward County has been identified as an area where food insecurity is a reality that many residents face daily. In Broward County, 15.5 percent of the population—281,940 people—goes days or more without access to enough food to be active and healthy, according to the most recent Census Bureau data.
Partnering for Progress
Dare to Care is a Partner Agency (PA) with Farm Share, Feeding South Florida, and a Gateway Community Outreach choice pantry where clients can choose the food that they want. We are an outreach ministry founded by The Faith Center, in Sunrise, Florida.
