GivingTuesday is a global generosity movement unleashing the power of radical generosity. GivingTuesday was created in 2012 as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good. Since then, it has grown into a year-round global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity.
Join us as we raise funds for Dare to Care, a charity that gives back each and every week. Not only does DTC give groceries, but it also provides support through the Evelyn L Fernandez Scholarship. This past summer five young people received funds for tuition and other expenses, in the amount of One Thousand Dollars ($1,000).
We are committed to serving individuals and families by providing access to resources and services to meet their most pressing physical, social, and spiritual needs, in a manner that preserves their dignity and affirms their self-worth.
Broward County has been identified as an area where food insecurity is a reality that many residents face daily. In Broward County, 15.5 percent of the population—281,940 people—goes days or more without access to enough food to be active and healthy, according to the most recent Census Bureau data.
We are using food as a catalyst to attract those in a food desert community experiencing food insecurities to our property to not only meet that immediate need of food, but to also provide resources and education that will better help them to cope and eliminate those food insecurities. Dare to Care (DTC) is a community development and services outreach 501(C)3 organization. DTC has served the South Florida community for over 15 years.
